Dhaanya Seeds is a pan-India, technology driven hybrid seeds business focusing on large acreage field crops – Cotton, Rice, Maize and Pearl Millet and specialty vegetables – Tomato, Okra and Chili. Dhaanya Seeds produces and markets proprietary research hybrids which are developed by the R&D team at its parent company, Metahelix Life Sciences. The technology is provided by Metahelix Life Sciences which has capabilities both in biotechnology and conventional breeding in multiple crops and has facilities in different parts of the country.
Dhaanya’s focus on field and vegetable crops is based on synergies between crop breeding technology and trait development research at Metahelix. Dhaanya’s hybrid seeds in field and vegetable crops have superior agronomic performance and these products are created specifically for each agro-climatic zone in the country. Dhaanya introduces new and novel hybrids for each market in India after a systematic and objective evaluation of these hybrids under stringent conditions in farmer field conditions.
Dhaanya Seeds has R&D stations at Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad; seed production locations in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu; quality assurance and seed conditioning plants at Medchel, Andhra Pradesh and Trichy in Tamil Nadu. Dhaanya Seeds has regional sales and marketing offices across India.
Dhaanya’s seeds are grown by farmers around the country and are well supported by a marketing team that imparts product knowledge and offers solutions to enhance product performance benefits.
